Item Description

A classic old time Brazilian Quartz and Tourmaline combination specimen dating back to the 1970s. This robust cabinet display specimen features a pronounced, sharp, well-formed, euhedral, very gemmy, hexagonal prism of Quartz associated with dozens of rich blue-green prisms of Tourmaline growing on the lower portion and actually included INSIDE the Quartz itself. Portions of the Quartz are virtually water clear, which allows for wonderful viewing on the thin Tourmaline crystals frozen within. Now it's important to note that that the majority of the Tourmaline crystals are contacted, along with underside of the Quartz crystal, but the two species together makes for a wonderful color contrast. A light dusting of soft beige colored Muscovite can be seen on the prism faces of the Quartz crystal, and you can actually see some of them included just under the surface. The termination of the Quartz has a small nick, so it's not pristine, but the piece is still very eye-catching and displays wonderfully. A great representation of these beloved specimens from Brazil. The piece weighs 562 grams. Valued at $1,200 in the inventory.
