A sharp, 1.4 cm, moderately lustrous "raspberry" grossular garnet dodecahedron is aesthetically perched atop the quartz matrix with more garnets from the well-known finds at the Sierra de Cruces, Mexico. The larger crystal on the bottom is 1.9 cm. These famous red grossular garnets have graced many important collections and are from the famous finds of the late 1990s. The garnets are called "raspberry" garnets by many people for their unique color and sharp form. They GLOW, when back lit. The contacted back of the primary crystal reveals the interesting black interior. The frontal shots show hints of the black interior. Today, they are uncommon on the market although they were common for a time. The piece displays well without aid. Classic and showy "raspberry" garnet.
