A very gemmy, beautifully juicy, old-time Cruzeiro tourmaline from the Steve Smale Collection. This luscious crystal has very pleasing shades of cranberry-red and a highly lustrous pinacoidal termination. Red Cruzeiro crystals of this quality came out in the 1960s and 70s and are very uncommon and are highly desired. A very picky, trivial bit of termination edgewear is noted by us, but is certainly a modest detraction and given the age and rarity, I think acceptable in context. I got this one in a large trade with Steve Smale from his extensive Brazilian collection. 20 grams. Valued at $1500-1800
