Item Description

A 3.2 cm, sharp, lustrous, translucent, pastel-yellow rhodizite crystal is aesthetically set atop blocky matrix of schorl sections, quartz and albite. Rhodizite is the K-dominant member of the Londonite-Rhodizite Series. Londonite is the Cs-dominant member of the Series was only named in 2001. Rhodizite is VERY RARE world-wide, with easily the finest and largest examples coming from localities in Madagascar. The Series are among the most sought-after species from the country, along with tourmalines. Specimens from Madagascar without analysis should be labelled as Londonite-Rhodizite Series. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2000 at the Tucson Show.
