Item Description

A sculptural, showy and uncommon two-sided combination from this well-known Peru district. Two generations of rhodochosite comprise this artistic piece. The aesthetically intergrown sparkly spherical clusters of light pink rhodo are colorfully and richly coated with scintillating drusy-quartz pastel-pink rhodochrosite. The rhodos rests on a sculptural matrix of contrasting sphalerite, an uncommon combination from here. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # X82-7 and illustrated on Page 113 of his 2013 self-published book, Rhodochrosite - Crystals of Drama and Nuance (available by request). Uncommon, desirable and aesthetic Peru rhodo.
