A highly lustrous, translucent, cherry-red, rhodochrosite rhomb is elegantly set on a sulfide matrix shard studded with tiny quartz needles on this classic and excellent miniature from the famous Sweet Home Mine. One corner of the rhomb is quite gemmy. This showy piece displays very nicely and the crystal is rather large and complete for anything from this mine that could be had for under a few thousand dolalr sin today's market. This is from an old collection and came to us in a lot deal. If purchased individually at this date, something like this should run at least $2000-2500 if it turned up again with the original miners. It is more than just a reference quality - this is a superb, single crystal and miniature display specimen. It is a style from pockets in the mid 1990s
