Item Description
The Sweet Home Mine in Colorado is probably the most famous locality for Rhodochrosite in the world. Not only are the crystals world-class, but some of the finest faceted stones of Rhodochrosite extant have come from this mine. Here we have a beautiful "emerald" cut gem with eye clean clarity and a bright pink hue. Often Rhodochrosite gems are not 100% clean, but this stone is about as clean as they get. The price of Rhodochrosite gems from the Sweet Home has been on the rise since the mine recently closed, and these gems are highly sought after by collectors, since very little is ever available on the market. While new mining is taking place near the Sweet Home as we speak, it's difficult to know if it will be the same quality as the old classic material from years ago, so don't miss out on this one.
