Item Description

Rhodochrosite and Ilvaite specimens are a desirable and attractive combination from the well-known Taxco area, renowned for the prodigious amount of Silver that it has produced. The pink Rhodochrosite clusters, to 4 mm, generously decorate a matrix of black Ilvaite crystals that range up to 7 mm in size. The contrast in color, as well as form, is aesthetic and appealing, and is central reason that these combinations are considered a contemporary Mexican mineral classic if you can ever find one to see - this being the largest we have personally seen for sale. This should be old material, probably pre-1980s.
