Item Description

Rhodochrosite from the Sunnyside mine is one of the staples of any good Colorado or Rhodochrosite collection. In my opinion, this mine is only second to the famous Sweet Home in Colorado as far as the quality of the specimens are concerned. This superb thumbnail sized specimen comprises a few very sharp, rich pink color Rhodochrosite rhombohedra which are associated with a few white spherial aggregates of rarely seen Anhydrite. The back side of the piece is incomplete, clearly where the crystals came off the host rock, but it does not detract from the display side whatsoever. A great specimen for any collector of Rhodochrosites or specimens from Colorado as this one stands out among many others I have seen over the years. Valued at $700 for quality and aesthetics.
