Manuelita Rhodochrosite specimens are not terribly easy to find on the market htese days, as most of the best specimens came out in the 1990s. This attractive small cabinet specimen features very sharp, well-formed, translucent, rich pink colored blocky rhombohedra of Rhodochrosite free of matrix. The largest crystal measures 3.5 cm on edge, which is quite large for the locality. The color is a STRONG pink-red when the crystals are backlit, but they're not necessarily gemmy. The outer edges of the group are contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall, so it's not completely damage free, but still good quality with big crystals for the locality. Valued at $750 retail. A very attractive and fine quality example of this classic material from Peru. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #X19-6).
