Item Description

A showy and excellent combination from the famed and closed Sweet Home Mine. A 1.3 cm, pristine, lustrous and translucent, pretty rose-red, tabular rhodochrosite rhomb is aesthetically perched atop matrix with smaller rhodos and tetrhedrite crystals. A dramatically set line of color-zoned fluorite cuboctahedrons is a super compliment to the well-placed rhodo. The lustrous, transparent fluorites, to 1.0 cm, have rich grape-purple cores around colorless exteriors and frosted stepped-growth fraces. The leading edge of the sawed quartz-rich granite matrix with microcrystalline pyrite is covered with more fluorites, many more tetrahedrite crystals, needle quartz and a single rhodo rhomb, adding much character to this fine combination. The fluorites fluoresce purple. The former dealer has a $1200 price on the label on the base (it is probably from the late 1990s or early 2000s). A fine combination from this famed locale with excellent fluorites. rare on the market.
