Item Description

Lustrous, translucent, rose-red rhodochrosite scalenohedrons, to 8 mm, are aesthetically clustered on this aesthetic, showy and excellent miniature from the Potosi Mine. Some of the crystals have a girdle of smaller crystals around their mid-sections, suggesting a wheatsheaf habit. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # X29-7 and illustrated in Bill's 2013 self-published book, Rhodchrosite - Crystals of Drama and Nuance, on Page 38 as an example of the wheatsheaf habit, similar to famous rhodos from the Kalahari.
