Item Description
The cluster of mines contained within Sunnyside are well-known for producing very attractive, and highly desirable, pink Rhodochrosites. Here we have lustrous, intergrown Rhodochrosite rhombs up to 4 mm resting on a bed of sharply crystallized Quartz. The Rhodos decorate the edges of the plate nicely, with the largest crystals perfectly placed towards the center of this piece. There is even a second generation of snowy, drusy Quartz that reminds one of the winters in Colorado. This is an aesthetic and fine small cabinet specimen for the district.
