Item Description

Rhodochrosite from the Sunnyside mine is one of the staples of any good Colorado or Rhodochrosite collection. In my opinion, this mine is only second to the famous Sweet Home in Colorado as far as the quality of the specimens are concerned. This piece features small attractive, sharp, soft pink colored Rhodochrosite rhombohedra, sitting on black Sphalerite and golden Chalcopyrite matrix. A good "hand" sized specimen for any collector of Rhodochrosites or specimens from Colorado. Rarely does one see Rhodochrosite on purely sulfide matrix like this from this mine. This classic material is rarely seen on the market, and the Sunnyside has been closed for many years now.
