Item Description

A 1.2 cm, on the diagonal, gemmy rose-red rhodochrosite rhomb is aesthetically set in a forest of glassy needle quartz crystals on the curved matrix. Scattered clusters of metallic tetrahedrite crystals are a typical contrasting accessory to this showy combination from this renowned locale. The undamaged rhodo faces are lightly frosted. The right side of the rhomb is cleaved, but is certainly only a minimal detraction to this excellent and highly representative combination example from the Sweet Home Mine. Valued by the former dealer at $300 in the mid-1990s.
