Rhodochrosite (rare locality specimen)

From a discovery in 2019, here we have a rarely seen example of these pleasing pink to reddish-pink colored Rhodochrosite crystals from the Jubankeng Mine, which really hasn't produced anything since COVID turned things upside down and slowed mining efforts and recovery. The locality is best known for its tungsten production, but a few of these attractive Rhodos found their way to the market. Several compressed crystals feature a rich pink "core" with lighter pink exteriors, measuring up to 1.1 cm across, sit on contrasting matrix. The crystals are a gentle hexagonal shape, mostly undamaged and are very fun to view up close. A lovely specimen of a very unusual style for the species. If you collect worldwide Rhodochrosites or minerals from Chian don't miss out on this one, as they are few and far between.
