Item Description

A hard to find Rhodochrosite specimen from the Dr. Geier Mine in Germany - not the more common specimens from the Clara Mine or Wolf Mine - featuring botryoidal orange-pink colored groups of Rhodochrosite on host rock matrix. The Rhodos glow with color when backlit and the piece is in superb condition. If you collect worldwide Rhodochrosites or minerals of Germany, you cannot afford to miss out on this rare display piece. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3780). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
