Item Description

Small bladed balls of pretty pastel-pink rhodochrosite are festooned on the large sculptural quartz crystal plate. The large quartz points across the top of the piece dominate and reach 2.0 cm. The Hardin and Logan labels indicate the famed Huayllapon Mine, renowned for sharp rhombs similar to Sweet Home Mine specimens. Botryoidal rhodochrosite is EXTREMELY RARE from Pasto Bueno. Possibly from the Pachapaqui District, which produces similar rhodo and quartz combinations. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # X48-8 and valued by the former dealer at $450.
