Item Description

A very rich and dramatic old-time rhodochrosite combination specimen from the famous Sunnyside Mine. The sculptural piece is composed solidly of lustrous, light pink rhodochrosite rhombs intermixed with a sparing amount of contrasting sphalerite. This style and combination is very uncommon from here. A classic and desirable 360-degree Sunnyside rhodo combination from the Kay Robertson Collection # 2811. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
