Item Description

VERY RARE, perhaps unique combination material from the famous, ancient polymetallic-precious metal mines of the Madan ore field. Typical for the locale rosettes of pretty pastel-pink rhodochrosite rhombs are attractively scattered on the hefty blocky ore matrix with much golden chalcopyrite, some galena and a rich covering of tiny glassy quartz points. The UNIQUE mineral is the scattered pearlescent Stilbite blades. MINDAT does not list the species for Madan. The imposing large doubly terminated blade is 8 mm. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # X29-6 and illustrated on Page 133 of his 2013 self-published book, Rhodochrosite - Crystals of Drama and Nuance (available by request). An incredibly surprising and rare combination from Mada.
