Item Description

A large rhodochrosite rhomb from the recent (2007-present) finds at the Wutong Mine. The rhomb is set on quartz-rich matrix, with one side having bi-colored, purple and sea-green, fluorite cuboctahedrons as a very nice accent. The glassy rhodo has a cherry-red interior with a frosted, rose-red top. The highly lustrous sides are cleavage faces. This translucent crystal really GLOWS when backlit. This mine is currently closed and it is unlikely that there will be more production. A large, highly representative example of combination species from this locale. The fluorite fluorescences purple. The former dealer label has a $300 price.
