Item Description

A RARE, rich and very showy rhodochrosite combination from the famous Sunnyside Mine. Calcite is RARE from this renowned San Juan locale, noted for some of Colorado's finest rhodochrosite specimens. This very cute, colorful and sculptural combination features a rich blanket of small white calcite blades or needles resting on the undulating matrix covered with beautiful rich carnation-pink flattened rhodochrosite rhombs. The calcite looks like snow. The lone 4 mm quartz point is a fine accent. The interesting underlying scalloped matrix also hosts sulfide blebs. Ex W.S. Logan Collection X61. It displays super from either direction. Value of such an outstanding and rich combination rarity from the Sunnyside?? We feel $1000-1500 is reasonable. A MUST for the Colorado or species collector!
