Item Description

Rhodochrosite specimens from the NChwaning mines are highly valued in all their forms. This is a field of a few dozen botryoidal Rhodo clusters coated with super-sparkly, deep rose crystals. These Rhodo spheres, associated with Leucophoenicite and Caryopilite, range from 2-6 mm, and they are distributed nicely across the matrix, and are. Of all the drusy Rhodo specimens I have seen from Kalahari, this is as gemmy and rich-looking as they come. The fine micro crystals that completely coat the botryoidal surface are perfectly gemmy, making the Rhodochrosite appear as if it has been coated by a fine layer of freezing rain. Quite aesthetic, this is an excellent combination piece from a famous mining district.
