Item Description

The Sweet Home Mine is one of the most famous mineral localities in the world for its outstanding Rhodochrosite specimens. This piece is a nice association specimen featuring a 1.0 cm, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, beautiful red colored rhombic crystal of Rhodochrosite associated with several silvery-grey colored crystal of Tetrahedrite on one end sitting on Quartz matrix. Additional minor sulfides, i.e., Sphalerite, Pyrite, etc. can be seen on the piece as well. The Rhodochrosite group is contacted on one side so it's not 100% pristine, but the color and gemminess are still very good. Less and less Sweet Home material is on the market these days, and the Tetrahedrite association is especially hard to find!
