Item Description

An exceptionally rich and showy, two-sided small cabinet of this rare thallium-rich sulfosalt. Not the biggest, but richly crystallized. Robust diverging sprays of lustrous, metallic-gray, acicular crystals to about 8 mm are festooned on both sides of the sculptural nodular matrix and are accented with clusters of orange, micro orpiment crystals. Ex Francesco Bedogne Collection # 1225. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. This is an outstanding specimen of the rare lead, thallium, sulpharsenide.
