Romanechite

Romanechite is a fairly uncommon barium manganese hydroxide species, and good specimens from the United States are not often seen on the market. The species is named after the locality where it was first observed, Romaneche, Saone-et-Loir, France. Perhaps the best Romanechites are found in Arizona, but they are certainly few and far between. Recently a small amount of attractive Romanechite specimens were found in Pinal County, Arizona (this is the most specific locality info that we have at the time being for the material). This piece features black-grey, semi-metallic, spherical aggregates and dendritic growths of Romanechite, creating a near "floater" specimen with graceful features. If you're an Arizona collector, or if you're in the market for an unusual specimen of a species that is not often found in attractive pieces, don't miss out on this one.
