Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is the pink variety of Quartz which gets its color from micro fibrous inclusions of Dumortierite, or a species related to Dumortierite. The material is beloved for its unique pink color which ranges from a soft pink to a rather rich vivid pink from some localities. Rose Quartz stones are often used in cabochons as the material is rarely clean enough for faceted gems, because the majority of it is "milky" or "cloudy". This particular stone has very good clarity for a Rose Quartz, and that's why it was used for faceting and not a cabochon. It is a lovely, very very slightly "milky", light pink color gem with an "Emerald" cut. A great gem for any collector, or if you've always wanted a nice Rose Quartz for a piece of jewelry.
