Rose Quartz is the pink variety of Quartz whose color is said to be caused by a variation of Dumortierite. The material is beloved for its unique pink color which ranges from a soft pink to a rather rich vivid pink from some localities. Rose Quartz stones are often used in cabochons as the material is rarely clean enough for faceted gems, because the majority of it is "milky" or "cloudy". This particular stone has good clarity for a Rose Quartz gem. It is a lovely, "milky", light pink color gem with a NON-CABOCHON "Oval" cut. The best part of the stone to me is the fact that it's from Burma (Myanmar), and it's not the typical material that we've seen from Brazil or Madagascar. A rare locality gem for any collector.
