Rose Quartz (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A wonderful older specimen of Rose Quartz from an undisclosed locality in Minas Gerais. There are several very well-defined, sharp, pink colored hexagonal prisms on the piece. The piece is in good shape with only a bit of roughness around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket. The crystals show good form with some defined isolated terminations combined with groups of tightly intergrown smaller crystals. Good color and great form for this historic material from Brazil. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
