Beautiful glowing pink gemmy prismatic Rubellite crystals measuring up to 1.6 sit on a compacted mass of clay-coated Lepidolite crystals from the world famous Pala District in San Diego County. No mine was given, and it could be from several different localities, so it would be hard to figure it out visually. Some of the Rubellites are virtually WATER CLEAR upon close inspection, and the color is fantastic for the size. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1597). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
