Spinel is a well-known gem that also comes in a great range of colors. I think a good amount of collectors and dealers are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, beloved for their eye-catching color. This gem is an attractive, rich red color, "Oval" cut gemstone with an almost slightly metallic quality when its viewed in strong lighting. This gem has a very eye-catching hue and the clarity is slightly included. It is difficult to find superb quality Spinels these days from Myanmar, and it's possible we won't see any more of these gems for a while, as all mining activity in Mogok has been shut down due to civil unrest and the pandemic of the last few years. Additionally the mineral market in Mogok has been abandoned, so nothing is available for sale. It appears that these stones will soon be very very hard to come across and the days of the good Ruby Spinels may be dwindling.
