Item Description

Sanidine is a potassium feldspar that is found in many localities around the world, but like most Feldspars, the material is often opaque. In the summer of 2014, there was a significant discovery of gem quality Sanidine in Madagascar. Most gem quality crystals of Sanidine around the world are often small (typically a few mm), so one rarely finds any pieces that are large enough to cut a stone. This stone is certainly good sized by Sanidine standards, and has a very attractive straw color, with very very slight inclusions an "Emerald" cut. These gems are not very common, especially in this size, and are some of the most rare of the gem Feldspar stones around.
