Item Description

A rarely seen pair of crytals of the Feldspar species Sanidine from the type locality in Germany. Both specimens are sharp and well-formed with the typical beige color that is seen in this material. One is simply a single prism, and the other is a great quality, compressed / narrow "Carlsbad" twin. If you collect worldwide feldspars, or German minerals in general, this is a must have as one rarely finds examples of Sanidine from Drachenfels on the market these days. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7758) with a hand-written label from Wenzel Frie of Prague. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
