Item Description

Sapphire is a gem variety of Corundum, which occupies ever shade of the spectrum outside of red, where it then is called Ruby. In Myanmar, the pink stones are often referred to as Rubies as well, but outside of Mogok, pink Corundum is called Sapphire. This stone is from Sri Lanka, one of the top Sapphire-producing countries throughout history. This stone has a lovely pink hue with a slight lavender overtone. The stone has some slight inclusions with a standard "Step Oval" cut.
