Sapphire doublet (rare)

Item Description

A classic, gemmy and lustrous, coloress to very light blue, sapphire crystal from the deposits at Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. This textbook hexagonal, doubly terminated crystal has the excellent, typically pronounced stepped-growth faces, but has two very uncommon characteristics. One termination is flattened and also has a rare doublet crystal attached. Rare and very uncommon material. 18.25 carats or over 3.5 grams.
