Sapphires are incredible diverse because they are found in all colors of the rainbow, with the exception of red, and they are then classified as a Ruby. This stone is VERY close to being a Ruby, as it has a strong reddish-pink hue, and if it were from Myanmar, the locals would have certainly sold it as a Ruby. This gem has some eye-visible inclusions, but the intensity of the color combined with the fact that it's a good sized stone make a very appealing and vivid gem for your collection, or as a perfect candidate for jewelry since it's nearly perfectly calibrated at 9x7 mm.
