When it comes to Sapphire crystals, most of the time, they will be a bit rounded and dull, but the limited specimens from the Zazafotsy Quarry are some of the sharpest, most lustrous and well-formed Sapphires from anywhere. This piece is a very sharp, doubly-terminated, rather lustrous, rich purple and pink bi-colored Sapphire crystal from the finds of the late 1990s and early 2000s. It's crystallized all the way around with excellent luster, and the terminations are striated and complete. The piece is completely crystallized, making the specimen essentially a "floater". The coloration varies depending on the lighting used, as it will appear a different hue in sunlight as opposed in incandescent lighting. As I mentioned, Corundum crystals are rarely so SHARP and WELL-FORMED like this! A superb, impressive large thumbnail.
