Item Description

Scheelite is actually quite rare from the great Yaogangxian Mine, so good specimens such as this are always coveted. The Scheelite in this small cabinet piece is actually one pseudo-octahedral crystal seamlessly overgrowing another, together making a fine, sharp crystal that is about 2.3 cm tip-to-tip. The tan-grey color is complemented nicely by the translucence and the excellent, adamantine luster. Backlighting reveals a distinct difference in growth between the faces and edges, and this pattern is also reflected in the fluorescence, as Scheelites normally fluoresce completely white. There is a bit of tiny wear on the exposed termination, but it does not adversely affect the fine aesthetics, as the Scheelite sits perfectly atop the plate of Quartz crystals. Old material from the 1990s
