Item Description

A rare specimen of crystallized Scheelite on matrix from an undisclosed locality in Saxony (possibly Sadisdorf or the Sauberg Mine). Sharp, lustrous, tetragonal crystals of soft yellow-orange Scheelite on Quartz. Beautiful up close, and the fluorescence is a wonderful light yellow hue under SW UV light. A cool old classic from Germany. Ex Kay Robertson Collection with a few older labels from R. M. Wilke. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
