Item Description

A hard to find specimen of the very rare and beautiful copper lead selenide, Schmiederite from the Baccu Locci Mine in Sardinia, Italy. The species was named in 1963 after the German geographer Wilhelm Schmieder. Micro vibrant blue acicular "bursts" of "needle"-like crystals of Schmiederite are associated with green Brochantite on matrix. A great micro specimen for any rare species collector, especially since it's so colorful. This mineral is only found in just over a dozen places in the world, so don't miss out on this geat opportunity to pick up a species that is virtually impossible to obtain on the market. From the collection of Paolo Matioli.
