Schmitterite is an ultra rare uranium, tellurium oxide and emmonsite is a very rare hydrated iron, tellurium oxide. The Moctezuma Mine, a gold-tellurium mine, is famous for its suite of rare secondary tellurium minerals. It is the Type Locality for schmitterite. The sculptural matrix hosts scattered bright green botryoids and crusts of emmonsite and the paper arrow points toward the 1 mm, pastel-yellow, micro-tuft of emmonsite.
