Item Description
Mineral specimens of any type are RARE from this old feldspar quarry in the well-known Oxford pegmatite field of Maine. Schorl specimens are extremely rare. A 6.2 cm (bottom showing) sharp, highly lustrous, jet-black, trigonal terminated crystal is aesthetically encased by two glassy, terminated, transparent to translucent quartz crystals. The unusual termination is etched by dissolution and strikingly accented with two unusual holes of some kind, the larger is 9 mm deep. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection. A pristine, extremely fine and rare 360-degree schorl and quartz combination from this less well-known locale. A must for the species or locality collector.!
