Item Description

A classic specimen from arguably the most well-known Tourmaline locality in Pakistan, Stak Nala. This miniature specimen is a showy and aesthetic display piece featuring a wonderful 2.7 cm, sharp, lustrous, prismatic, black Schorl Tourmaline flaring out of a matrix composed of off-white bladed Albite (var: Cleavelandite). No damage and so showy! From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
