Item Description

Segnitite is a rare complex hydroxyl Pb-Fe arsenate and the well-known Kintore opencut at famed Broken Hill is the Type Locality. The vuggy limonite matrix hosts numerous clusters of sparkly, tiny yellow-brown microcrystals. The large vug is 1.4 cm long. This is a RARE and rich example of this exotic species from this noted locale. Ex South Australian Musuem Collections. Valued at $500 by experts who know more than I, it is a rare and valid example.
