Item Description

Seligmannite is a rare copper lead arsenic sulfosalt, and some of the better known examples are those from the Palomo Mine in Peru. This species was named in 1901 after Gustav Seligmann, a German mineral collector and author. This piece features small, brilliant, silvery colored, metallic crystals of Seligmannite measuring to about 1 mm which are associated with minor micro Galena and Sphalerite. Some of the crystals are notably well-formed and look beautiful with magnification.
