Item Description

This locality is world famous and beloved by collectors for producing many impressive mineral species, along with many "best in the world" examples. There is a great mix of rare and common species found at MSH, and even the common species have a distinctive appearance. This thumbnail specimen is a good association piece featuring a sharp, lustrous, partially etched, blocky, salmon orange colored Serandite crystal measuring 2.1 x 2.0 cm associated with white trapezohedral Analcime crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm across. Lastly, you can see sharp, prismatic, white crystals of Natrolite and minor black Aegirine prisms. A good combo specimen of this classic material. It should be noted that collecting at MSH is now restricted by the new ownership, so you can't get pieces like as easily as just a few years ago. From the personal collection of Charlie Key. Charlie is arguably the most successful dealer of the second half of the 20th century, along with being the namesake for TWO mineral species (Keyite and Ludlockite).
