Item Description
Marmolite is a Serpentine Group varietal. It is a light green pearly serpentine which may show a somewhat laminated fracture pattern (MINDAT), which this piece exhibits. It is VERY RARE from this old, extinct open pit chromite mine in Chester County. This solid old-time chunk is from the American Museum and the Eugene Carmichael Collection. A MUST for the locality or species collector! The specimen numbers match.
