Item Description

This is an attractive miniature specimen of this uncommon copper silicate species featuring a few beautiful soft blue, radiating "balls" of Shattuckite, free of matrix. This specimen dates back to a major discovery at the famous Tantara Mine in 2014. These are essentially a re-discovery from a much older and well-known find dating back many decades and documented by Belgian scientists. When these pieces came out in 2014, some people thought they were from Namibia, but they are infact from DR Congo. This piece along with others from the discovery was analyzed / confirmed at the University of Arizona - although it most likely does contain a small amount of Plancheite and possibly Ajoite. If you're a collector of this kind of material, don't miss out on this eye-catching, displayable small cabinet display specimen. Rarely does one encounter showy display specimens of this hard to find species, especially with such attractive form. Priced at $800 in the inventory.
