Item Description

First identified at the famous Bisbee Mine, Shattuckite is a rare and beautiful copper silicate. This rich specimen is from Kaokoveld, Namibia, which is also known for Dioptase specimens and great Primary Malachite. Remarkably, the pockets here have two distinct characters. The largest pocket, 3 cm across, is a shallow pocket in which the layer of Shattuckite is coated by drusy Quartz crystals. The Shattuckite is both beneath and included inside the quartz, and the visual effect is scintillating. The two smaller pockets have rich, deep blue Shattuckite in classic, undulating mounds. Naturally, there are contact points from where the pocket was opened up. A very fine, aesthetic specimen with SPARKLE!
