Shattuckite (excellent quality)

A lovely specimen of this uncommon copper silicate species featuring a wonderful coverage of beautiful soft blue, radiating "balls" of Shattuckite, free of matrix. This specimen was found at the famous Tantara Mine in 2014. Please note this is NOT from Namibia, these are actually from a much older and well-known locality dating back many decades and documented by Belgian scientists. This piece along with others from the discovery was analyzed / confirmed at the University of Arizona - although it most likely does contain a small amount of Plancheite and possibly Ajoite. If you're a collector of this kind of material, don't miss out on this eye-catching, displayable small cabinet display specimen.
